Nicholas K.A. ┼Żuger

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was five years old. I was given a  wooden toy camera for Christmas and immediately began to frame  the world around me through the small, circular viewfinder. My skills began to develop from there. Soon, I would have a real camera to call my own, and by age twelve I was already booking photography 'gigs' with close family and friends.

My love for photography stems from years of participating in Croatian folklore and years of being exposed to the natural world through camping, canoeing, and mountaineering. I dedicate my time to volunteering for the National Capital Region Croatian Folklore Ensemble Croatoan by serving on their executive council as Liaison Officer.

Fueled by these passions, I have had the privilege of working with and learning from established photographers and naturalists like Jean-Marc Carisse and Michael Runtz. I enjoy natural history photography and often dabble in portraiture and event photography.

Audio Tech is my second passion. In Grade 7, my school purchased a poorly installed live sound system for the gymnasium that, despite being built with intercom parts, was supposed to carry our assemblies and events. Curiosity and initiative got the best of me and I taught myself how to use it. Then I taught the teachers and staff how to use it. This kick-started my interest in professional audio and live sound, and now I design and install small to medium scale pro audio systems. I've also been known to work a few live gigs every now and then with local bands.
